Testimonials

Thanks very much, Dan, for returning my call. I have never called anywhere and had the company owner call me back. Thanks for taking the time to help people afford cheaper meds. I have insurance but office visits and the costs of meds are unbelievable. So, I just wanted to thank you again for helping people. God will bless you for that. Believe me, teachers like me are thankful for you!!!! Have a nice weekend.

FAQ

I'm a little skeptical. Is this on the up and up?

I can't tell you how many emails I get from folks saying things like.. "I'm a little hesitant" or "I'm a little apprehensive about this" or some other version of that line. I have to chuckle when I read those emails. If you think about it, I would be the absolute worse scammer on the face of the earth. I have a video of myself on this website. I prominently list my personal cell phone number (traceable by any law enforcement agency), I list my personal address, my fax number, the domain name "purplediscount.com" is registered in my name if you check the domain database, and I even link to another business of mine which also contains all my personal info. I challenge you to find one other website selling meds online that has as much contact info and personal info about the person you're dealing with, as mine does. Just one... go ahead... I'll wait while you do a search. :-)

Are medicines made in India safe?

This is the #1 concern/question I get from potential customers. All manufacturers in India have to GMP certified and meet all WHO (World Health Organization) standards. They must also be licensed through the Indian government. All medicines are manufactured to US and/or British standards. They are tested and quality controlled by 3rd party testing agencies.

Most people don't realize this, but a very large percentage of the medicines that we get from our local pharmacy are manufactured in India. Here is an email I got recently from a customer:

Finally, an ironic and slightly amusing comment about the products you provide. I am in Kaiser Permanente and receive most of my prescriptions at high prices but subsidized by Medicare. When I told my doctor I bought Omeprazole at a low price from India, she hemmed and hawed about quality controls, inconsistency of product, investment in R&D, etc. My very next Kaiser dispensed prescription was made by the very same manufacturer which supplied the first batch of Omeprazole I purchased from you. In fact, most of my prescriptions come from overseas companies, including India, Brazil, Japan, Switzerland, the UK and Sweden (that's the Astra part of Astra Zeneca).

The Indian pharma industry is one of the biggest and safest in the world.

Now, with that said... even when you take something made in the good 'ole USA, with our FDA approval...etc, you still get lawsuits against the manufacturers all the time about the outcome of a drug. So, ANY time you ingest something into your body, there is a risk. Regardless where it is made or who makes it. But Indian meds are just as safe as ours, all other things being equal.

Bottom line... do your own research on the Indian pharmaceutical industry. Do a keyword search on google for "indian medicine safety" (without quotations) or any other keywords you can think of. You won't find one negative article when it comes to the safety of Indian meds.

So, in this particular case, don't let the US drug industry or the FDA (which is basically an arm of the US drug industry) scare you into thinking all foreign made drugs are bad. This is simply nonsense. The US drug industry tries to reinforce this myth every chance they get. It's understandable considering the billions of dollars in potential lost revenue to overseas drug markets. But millions of people take generic Omeprazole outside the US and no one has grown a third arm from it yet. To reiterate,  many medicines for sale in Canada & US are actually manufactured in India. Safety is a non-issue.

How long does it take to receive my order?

All orders take an average of 20 days. Some will come in as little as 15 days but others might take as much as 35 days. We've even had it take up to 45 days. Bottom line, you MUST be willing to wait for the shipment. Please look at this as a long term solution. Short term solution is at your local grocery store.

Now, this is true of any outfit that ships from India. We all use the same shipping methods. No one has any better shipping times than anyone else. But most companies will not tell you the truth regarding shipping times. They'll tell you that it takes 2 weeks and not tell you anything more. Then if it does take longer, they'll just ask you to be patient...etc. But I choose to be very up front about everything regarding your order.

This bears repeating... you absolutely MUST be patient if your order ends up taking longer than normal. If you have to buy locally until such times as it arrives, so be it. But asking me for a refund when I've already sent your order will be considered a "no faith" gesture in my service and, although you'll get the refund immediately, you'll lose a long term partner in your search for inexpensive meds as I will not be able to continue to do business with you from that point forward. (Again... just being frank and honest with you.)

Can you ship outside the US?

We can take orders from England, Italy, China, Costa Rica, Hong Kong, Philippines, Australia and Japan. All other locations, please email me before ordering. Shipping is still free, no matter where we ship. However, any destination outside the US will be limited to ordering up to 180 pills per order and if they are lost in transit the first time, we'll eat the cost. If they end up being lost again (2nd or subsequent shipment), I'll have to ask that you eat the loss and we will not be able to ship to you again after that, unfortunately.

Why are American's so scared of overseas meds?

The US drug industry has tried and succeeded in scaring the American population, through their buddies at the FDA, into thinking if you don't buy your meds here in the US, you're going to grow three heads and sprout stumps for hands. This is complete nonsense. Yes, you do have to be careful. But there are literally BILLIONS of people outside the US that... oh, wait, surprise, can you believe it... actually take medicines for their ailments just like us Americans. And of course, the US is the only country concerned enough for their citizens to make sure their meds are safe, right? What absolute nonsense. Just because something hasn't been cleared by the all knowing FDA doesn't make it automatically dangerous. If that's the case, should billions of people across the planet stop taking their meds because they don't have America's FDA looking out after their best interest?

I think you get my point.

The secret is to find a trustworthy conduit into those supply channels located in other countries. I am one of those conduits for Omeprazole. Yes, you want to make sure you are purchasing meds that are being manufactured by licensed and accredited pharmaceutical companies within those foreign countries. But purchasing from suppliers that have contacts in other countries is by and large, very safe. Most major, multi-million dollar manufacturer's facilities and methodologies meet FDA standards as well as the World Health Organization's standards so there is far less risk than getting it from some backdoor laboratory in Mexico.

How do I report a late order?

Click on the "Report Late Order" link above. But only at day 35 or more. Please do NOT fill out the form until your order gets to day 35. Also, do not WAIT much longer than day 35, either. Here's why... almost all our shipments that come to you from India are registered and you have to sign for them. If you're not home when they attempt to deliver it, they are SUPPOSED to leave you a notification telling you that they attempted to deliver it and to come get it at the post office. I say they're "supposed" to because about 10% of the time, that notification, for whatever reason, does not get into your hands. Blame it on the wind, falling under the couch, the postal person forgetting, dog eating it..etc...etc...etc. But time and time again, we get customers that swear they never got a notification and the post office shows in the tracking that it was attempted to be delivered on such and such a date and it's been at the post ever since. So, if you wait for more than 35 days to ask us to track it, it could be that the order has already been sent back to the sender. If that happens, the order will be lost for good as the shipments DO NOT make it back to India.

So, bottom line... PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE do not WAIT to tell me much past day 35 if your order has not arrived so we can check it. Conversely, do not report it much BEFORE day 35, either. So, mark day 35 on your calendar, please. :-)

Is your website secure for ordering via Credit Card...etc?

I've gone to great lengths to make sure your information is secure as possible. I pay a great deal of money to ensure that our site is hacker safe. We use an independent audit agency (ScanAlert™) to verify this. They scan this website daily for vulnerabilities to hacking. Now, the free sample order form is not on a secure server, but that is normal. The information you're entering is just name/address stuff. That will be sent to you in a unsecure email... so it's kind of useless to accept it from you using a secure order form if we're just turning around and resending it to you for verification through unsecure email. But any order through us that is using credit card data, will be collected via a secure server.

Difference between brand and generic?

Appearance, packaging and price. That's it! The patent for Prilosec™ OTC expired several years ago. So, there are many companies worldwide that make Omeprazole including here in the US. But our prices are way below even the generic price for Omeprazole here in the US.

What's the difference between the Omeprazole capsule and tablet?

There's really no difference between capsules and tablets other than the obvious that one is a capsule and one is a tablet. They both work identically. I offer both capsules and tablets simply because some people can get the capsule down their throat easier than the tablet. Also, in a small number of people, their bodies can absorb the capsules better. Subsequently it works better for them. I, myself, use either of them depending on what I have on hand at the time and they work equally as well. Our free sample will be whatever is on hand at the moment. But when you place an actual order from us, you'll be able to order either of the forms and they are the same price.

Do you sell 10mg Omeprazole?

Yes. We can get the 10mg Omeprazole in capsule form. It's on the order page.

Do you have any testimonials?

Um.. yeah. Dozens of them. Click here to read them. :-)

What's the difference between Nexium and Prilosec?

Not much. Nexium helps a small fraction of people better than Prilosec, but not many. For a good layman's explanation, click here.

What are the expiration dates of the meds you sell?

Our expiration dates run about 18 months from the time you buy them.

Is it legal to purchase generic Prilosec™?

If this is really a concern, please read this information regarding importation of drugs into the US for personal use.

How will my order be shipped and will it have a tracking number?

The free sample order will come via first class airmail and no signature will be required. Hence, there is no tracking, either.

Some of our regular (paid) orders are sent via registered airmal (signature required) and some will come via regular mail with no signature required. We DO NOT have any control over this, though. The registered shipments do have tracking numbers, but they are useless unless the order has been delivered or it's been attempted delivered. So, we don't bother sending them to customers as it's an added hassle for no real benefit.

We do not, however, send it via any quicker methods other than just first class airmail (registered or regular.) When we ship it using faster methods, it attracts the attention at the border... which renders the whole point of sending via a faster method, moot, since it has a higher likelihood of being delayed in transit. So please do not ask to have it shipped quicker. We simply can't do it. Here's how it works... you order, we ship, we all wait. :-)

Who are you and why should I buy from you?

My name is Dan Sherman and I'm an Omeprazole "broker" of sorts. I also use Omeprazole to calm a pretty severe GERD condition myself.

During the height of the 2004 Prilosec® OTC shortage, I discovered that the generic form of the medicine is readily available in other countries and is much cheaper than the brand name here in the US.

That frustrated me, as you can imagine.

So after much research and establishing solid contacts in the pharmaceutical industry, I decided to offer my services as a broker between India and my customers here in the US and abroad. My goal was to make it possible for my customers to gain access to the foreign availability of inexpensive Omeprazole through personal use direct shipments.

After finding a supplier and figuring out all the ins and outs of legally transferring large sums of money internationally on a periodic basis (what a nightmare, post 9/11), I now provide a secure and simple process for customers worldwide to purchase Prilosec® OTC equivalent medication (Omeprazole) for a LOT less than you're used to paying.

But why buy from me instead of any competitors I might have? Because I am very transparent in who I am and how to contact me. You won't find out much about the people behind other sites. This is usually because they don't want you to be able to find them if they run into problems getting your order to you. With me, you know how to knock on my front door if you want. You know all about me (see below) and my other businesses, my personal phone number. My domains are registered in my own name. In a word... I am as honest as the day is long and it shows.

(SIDE NOTE: There is another high profile Omeprazole vendor advertising his services that bilked thousands of his customers out of a LOT of money back in last part of 2006 because of an issue his supplier was having getting medicines to his customers. Instead of making good and keeping people informed of the issues, he simply didn't answer their queries and hoped people would forget about it in frustration. Amazingly enough, he's still chugging away. That's why it's important to know exactly who it is that you're dealing with.)

About Dan Sherman

Just in case you want to know even more about me. (Yawn!) :-) Here it is...

My main (and very seasonal) business is Great American Collectibles. We're the largest carved resin figurine manufacturer in the US. We sell folk art Santas, Witches and Uncle Sams and a few other things through gift shops and other retail locations across the USA as well as through our website. All our products are made and painted by hand here in the USA. We're the largest resin collectible company that still does everything in the US. Everyone else has decided to move to China...etc. :-(

So when you buy from PurpleDiscount.com, you're supporting our holiday related business because PurpleDiscount.com helps us get through the "low" or non-holiday season. If you feel so inclined, check out my main business.

I also have other internet based businesses, like megasticky.com. Others that are currently in various stages of development and/or launch are letsfax.net, twitmoney.com, biggestonearth.com and several others.

So there you have it. When you buy from purplediscount.com, you're buying from some ONE, not an anonymous entity. Thanks for your business and God bless.

Would there be a reason NOT to order from you?

Why yes, there is. Glad you asked! Ha!

I've dedicated an entire page to explaining who should not order from me. Here it is.
